The Center for Social Concerns offers a summer course for students interested in addressing social concerns through service.
THEO 33936: Summer Service Learning Program: Confronting Social Issues
This three-credit service-learning course takes place before, during, and after student participation in an eight-week immersion with agencies across the United States. The goal of the course is to explore the meaning and dynamics of Christian service, compassion, and Catholic social teaching through service, readings, journal writing, an integration paper, and facilitated discussion upon return to campus. Each summer, over 200 students serve and learn in over 100 cities in collaboration with Notre Dame Alumni clubs.
