Orientation

The First Year Orientation is mandatory for all first-year students.

The orientation weekend is held each fall to introduce parents to their student’s campus life and help them become more familiar with the University of Notre Dame. An official Orientation welcome program, academic exploration sessions where families can meet University administrators and deans, an orientation with dorm rectors, receptions, Sunday Mass, and an introduction to the campus athletic programs are among the planned activities.

The orientation weekend is held each fall to introduce students, as well as parents, to student campus life. The University’s Orientation for First Year undergraduates takes place August 21 – 23. There is a combination of required and optional events. The schedule below lists all events, times and locations. Residence Halls will also have individual events.

Note the Official Orientation Program begins promptly at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 22.
